Although Lauren Conrad has had her fill of "The Hills," MTV is extending the series' run with an additional clutch of episodes set to air in the fall.
As part of its upfront announcements to advertisers, MTV said Tuesday the docusoap will continue without the 23-year-old designer, building a new story line around newlyweds (and Conrad antagonists) Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag. Full story

She will play one of the leads, Vanessa, stepping in for Leslie
Bibb, who left in the wake of the shake-up on the pilot that led to

The upfront haul for the Big Four broadcast networks will decrease 15% from the 2008 tally to about $7.7 billion, according to a projection by Barclays Capital. Miller Tabak predicts a more modest Big Four decline of 9.8%, to $8 billion, and a 9.9% drop to $8.4 billion for the six broadcast networks. Full story

“Project Runway’”s long delayed sixth season will premiere Aug. 20 on its new network, Lifetime.
The announcement was made at Lifetime’s upfront presentation Tuesday in New York where the cable network also unveiled a development slate that includes drama series based on the movies “Mona Lisa Smile” and “Mystic Pizza,” an original movie exec produced by country star Garth Brooks as well as J.D. Roth’s reality show “Deadbeat Dads.” Full story
