Women Directors
The Fund for Women Artists’ campaign Push the Envelope, Please! has written an Open Letter to Hollywood urging moviegoers to tell the film industry that they want to see more films that reflect a feminine sensibility. The Fund for Women Artists is encouraging people who support their push for change "to host Oscar parties where they root for the women filmmakers and take quizes about women’s status in Hollywood," writes Associate Director Sarah Browning. For the male perspective on why Hollywood doesn't put more women behind the camera, check out Hollywood Elsewhere's riff on my column on Italian Oscar contender Cristina Comencini (Don't Tell).

I want to see more good films. I don't care if they come from men, women or aliens.
