Cruise In My News Box

I bought an LATimes in Larchmont this morning and when I opened the newspaper box, Lalo Schifrin's classic M:i:III theme started playing. I grabbed my paper and slammed the box shut which triggered the theme again. I can't say I've ever had an interactive newspaper box experience before. But then I've never had to deal with a logoized laughing urinal cake either.

ADD: The promotion misfired Friday, reports the LAT, when a digital music device inside a Santa Clarita LAT coin machine was mistaken by customers for a bomb and was blown up by an LA County sheriff's arson squad.

Did you hear they had to call in the bomb squad for fear one of the boxes and wires attached to the newsrack was an explosive device? Nice goin', Paramount!
