Leo vs. Leo
As I predicted in my Premiere Oscar Predicts story (on newstands now), the best-laid plans of Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio —which involve a best actor Oscar campaign for his lead role in Blood Diamond—may be foiled. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which nominates and votes for the Golden Globes, are putting DiCaprio's role in The Departed in the best actor category, reports Tom O'Neill at The Envelope, instead of supporting actor. From the start I thought DiCaprio's best shot for an Oscar was for best actor in The Departed. That category is weaker than supporting, where he's thrown in with all his Departed co-stars. If Leo goes into best actor, Jack Nicholson and Matt Damon may follow. Which could give Mark Wahlberg a fighting chance in supporting.

Has anyone even seen Blood Diamond?
