Eastwood Advises Haggis

Clintacad
[Posted by Cynthia Littleton] How low-key is the Academy Awards nominees lunch? So casual and inside-the-Beverly-Hilton-beltway that a fourth-estate attendee stumbled into an intriguing conversation between friends and fellow nominees (and past winners) Paul Haggis and Clint Eastwood. Haggis asked Eastwood’s advice on whether he should submit to Warner Bros.’ request to move up the release date of Haggis’ next picture, the Tommy Lee Jones-Charlize Theron thriller “In the Valley of Elah,” from September to June. The movie is in production right now, and it would be a rush to make a June release date, but the studio is concerned about “Elah” getting overwhelmed by a crush of September-October releases, Haggis explained.

“June? That’s easy,” Eastwood replied. “It’s February. Clip, clip; snip, snip - You’re done.”
Haggis smiled. He’d already warned Eastwood that he’d probably do the opposite of whatever anyone advised him to do.

I was thinking a more appropriate advice to Haggis might be " you know, television misses you".
