Polanski victim wants case dismissed; read Samantha Geimer declaration in full

By Matthew Belloni

Polanski, roman The woman who was raped by Roman Polanski when she was 13 filed a strongly-worded declaration today urging the Los Angeles County district attorney's office to drop the case.

Samantha Geimer, 45, who signed the declaration in Hawaii, says she's being harmed by the attention the case has been getting and by the explicit details prosecutors have dredged up, she claims, to distract attention from accusations of wrongdoing against them and the case's original judge.

Here's the full declaration.

She's made similar statements before, but we're pretty sure this is the first time she's weighed in since case heated up recently. Polanski is seeking a dismissal of the case that caused him to leave the country but he has been told by prosecutors he must show up in court to have his claim of misconduct in the original case heard.

Interestingly, in her declaration Geimer cites the recent documentary "Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired," which she urges the court to see. She also says she is willing to appear in court if Polanski doesn't.

No! you don't get to ask rape and sodomy and drugging charges of a 13 year old girl to be dismissed-at least not in America. Come on- why would a man over 40 give drugs and alcohol to a 13 year old girl... for a better photo shoot-only some dumb person would believe that crap. This guy is nothing but a common criminal who took flight. The only reason we are discussing this is that he is wealthy and has attachments to the Hollywood crowd-some of whom may think such behavior is some kind of art form. Bring him back and lock him up. This will bring some closure for Samamatha also.
