Wait...Alan Rosenberg Hired Who?

Who says that Hollywood is a one political party town?

We found it interesting that the complaint filed in LA Superior Court today by Screen Actors Guild national president Alan Rosenberg in the SAG Civil War was co-authored by Eric George at Browne Woods & George. 

As noted in the San Francisco Daily Journal when George made name partner at his firm four years ago, he's "best known for his political work," including advising Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Senator Orrin Hatch, and former President George Bush. All Republicans. George is the son of California Supreme Court Chief Judge Ronald George and once represented former Justice Department lawyer John Yoo when he was sued by alleged terrorist Jose Padilla for authoring the legal opinions that formed the basis for the Bush administration's handling of terrorism suspects.

George was also a partner at the west coast outpost of Dreier Llp, the firm that imploded in December in the wake of owner Marc Dreier's arrest and jailing on fraud charges in New York. Oh, and he once represented Michael Jackson's ex-wife in a custody fight with the singer. (Of course, every case always connects back to Michael Jackson; he's the Kevin Bacon of the judicial system.)

The court rejected the plaintiffs' request for a temporary restraining order that would have dealt a setback to those organizing the the coup d'etat within SAG. The judge cited some procedural errors in the complaint, and Rosenberg and the rest of the Gang of Four are reportedly planning to refile. 

Republican or Democrat, only time will tell if George can stop change from happening upon SAG's doorstep.
