Brittany Murphy dies

Actress Brittany Murphy, best known for roles in films including "Clueless," "Don't Say a Word" and "8 Mile," died Sunday morning in Los Angeles at age 32. A Cedars-Sinai Medical Center spokeswoman told the Associated Press that Murphy died at 10:04 a.m. Sunday but would not provide a cause of death or any other information. The L.A. Fire Department said it had responded to a call at 8 a.m. Sunday from a home that is listed as belonging to British screenwriter Simon Monjack, who is married to Murphy, and that one person was transported to a hospital. A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles police said an investigation has been opened into Murphy’s death. Read more and check out a photo gallery of her life and career.

"Ghostbusters" director Ivan Reitman confirmed to Roger Friedman that a script for a third film is being worked on now, and all signs point to some ghostbusting for 2010.
