Remembering Renfro
You missed him in the Oscar tribute to those who'd passed away (that's because he wasn't there -- bad Academy Awards!), but you can catch Brad Renfro in one of his standout roles tomorrow on the big screen.
The Egyptian Theatre, Hollywood's meticulously restored movie palace, will show "Bully," the 2001 indie flick from Larry Clark, as part of a tribute to the young actor who died of a heroin overdose in January. (He's pictured here with "Bully" co-star Rachel Miner).
About that Oscar tribute: the Academy said later that it simply couldn't include everybody in the "those we lost" clip reel. Another glaring omission, Roy Scheider, didn't die at the right time to make the cut.
Clark, who specializes in hard-core grit and violence (see: "Kids"), will speak at the event about his friendship and working relationship with the young actor he's called "a natural."
