'30 Rock,' 'Breaking Bad' win at WGA
Aren't we all getting used to a "30 Rock" stacked deck?
At the WGA Awards, the NBC series snagged three nominees out of six for best episodic comedy (one of them written by series creator and star Tina Fey).
But this time, it was Andrew Guest and John Riggi, instead of the now trophy laden Fey, who won one (for the episode called "Succession" where Jack Donaghy's naked ambition is unflinchingly on display).
Others vying for the prize included "My Name is Earl," "Ugly Betty" and "The Office."
The WGA didn't just stick to the obvious choices, though, honoring Vince Gilligan (pictured) for the pilot from "Breaking Bad" as best episodic drama. Its star, Bryan Cranston, is an Emmy winner for the AMC high-school-teacher-turned-meth-dealer drama.
