-- Olympic organizers are bringing in cheer squads to fill seats, add cheer
-- A just-released study from Carat says they have identified four
themes for new broadcast shows next season: Imported (“Ex List,”
“Life on Mars,” “Hole in the Wall,” etc.), Classics & Remakes
(“Merlin,” “Crusoe,” “Kings” etc), Sci-Fi/Supernatural (“Fringe,
“Mentalist,” "Eleventh Hour," "Harper's Island") and, oddly enough, Random Acts of Kindness
(“Philanthropist, “Secret Millionaire” and “Opportunity Knocks”).
-- The horrifying Olympic weightlifting mishap video that has us gasping. The guys shuffling in afterward with the excuse-our-mess/wet-floor viewing guards is like something out of Monty Python
-- NBC says they’re unable to remove “Live” tag from West Coast feed
-- Transgender contestant to compete on “America’s Next Top Model”; certain to be criticized by Tyra for being indecisive looking
-- Nielsen has launched a TV ratings blog. What a great idea!
-- Different maid, different Manhattan, same title ...
-- The image that always will be associated with the Beijing Olympics...
