Olympics coverage reigns; 'Wanna Bet' improves

Ratings for NBC’s Beijing Olympics coverage held steady Tuesday to once again lead NBC to a nightly victory.

Coverage of women’s gymnastics, swimming, beach volleyball and diving (32 million viewers, 11.1 adults 18-49 rating and a 30 share) continued to outpace the last Summer Games four years ago. Through five days of coverage, the Summer Olympics is up 13% in the adult demo (21% in total viewers) versus four years ago. Last night, China claimed its first-ever first women's gymnastics team title after the U.S. team made a couple of crucial errors (NBC  video).

CBS placed second, with "Big Brother" (2.4/6) maintaining its rating against the increased competition this week, accompanied by repeat.

Following a repeat of "Wipeout" (1.8/5), ABC's game show "Wanna Bet” (1.4/4) jumped 27% in its new time period compared with its prior Monday average. At 10 p.m., ABC earned the same rating for "Primetime" (1.4/4). Fox aired repeats (averaging 3.2 million, 1.2/3).
