Scooby Doo, 'Project Runway,' 'Wipeout'
-- There will be a third live action/CG "Scooby Doo" movie, but debuting on Cartoon Network instead of in theaters. Weirdly, this makes the project sound better instead of worse.
-- Fox thankfully denies a report that Paula Abdul will produce and star in a cheerleading reality show for the network. She is pitching it around, however, and ... who knows? A place like Fox Reality Channel could bite.
-- Kevin Plunkett takes over as ABC Studios new head of comedy.
-- Portfoilo says Bravo’s "Project Runway" ratings are going downhill. My take is that the double digit gains on recent episodes is impressive, especially for the fifth season of a reality show that was dumped into a more competitive time slot as punishment for going to Lifetime in order to give a strong lead-in to a continuing series. And though Bravo denies this, it's tough to imagine the network really spent the same numbers marketing the series as they normally would have.
-- Mark Burnett coutersues former business partner Conrad Riggs.
-- ABC's "Wipeout" is supposedly soliciting new obstacle course ideas. Producers must have finished watching all those MXC videotapes (sorry-sorry, couldn’t help it).
-- Spike TV does a reality show version of "Faces of Death."
-- Aaron Barnhart argues that Conan O’Brien will be just fine taking over “The Tonight Show.”
-- Dish Network is adding 17 new HD channels tomorrow and promises 150 total by the end of the year.
-- Sci Fi uses Twitter 2 pimp "Eureka" http://tinyurl.com/6rjuy7 -- (yes, a Twitter joke, anybody actually get it? ... that's what I figured).
