'Ghost Hunters' sets record; ties 'South Park'
Wednesday's "Ghost Hunters" on Sci Fi Channel hit an all-time ratings high and managed to tie Comedy Central's "South Park" in the adult demo for the night.
"Hunters" had a record 3.2 million viewers, "Park" had 2.8 million viewers, with both shows drawing a 1.5 18-49 rating.
As THR broke last night, Sci Fi Channel is prepping yet another spinoff to "Hunters," a franchise that's been a rather stunning success for the network. The concept is so threadbare -- guys walking around houses using night vision whispering, "Did you hear that?" That the format just keeps doing better and better has been a constant and pleasant surprise to all parties involved.
