CBS wins Monday with repeats

Shrek2 Talk about fighting with one arm tied behind your back. CBS managed to continue its Monday night  winning streak while airing nothing but repeats against competitors running original episodes and holiday specials.

CBS averaged 9.9 million viewers and a 2.9 preliminary adults 18-49 rating last night with its "Two and a Half Men" repeat (13.7 million, 4.1) ranking as the evening's highest-rated show.

ABC was second, launching strong with an hour of green-creature holiday specials that topped 8 p.m. A repeat of "Shrek the Halls" (11.2 million, 3.3) was followed by an airing of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (11.7 million, 3.8). ABC hopes "Shrek," which premiered last year paired with "Grinch," becomes an ever-repeatable annual tradition. Though 3.3 is a great number for an encore, it's down 54% from last year.

Next ABC aired two episodes of "Samantha Who?" (averaging 6.8 million, 2.1), which clocked season lows without a "Dancing With the Stars" lead-in. ABC aired an on par "Boston Legal" (8.4 million, 2.3) at 10 p.m.

NBC placed third with on par editions of "Chuck" (7.2 million, 2.5) and "Heroes" (8 Million, 3.6). At 10 p.m., "My Own Worst Enemy" hit a season low (4 million, 1.6).

Fox's "Terminator" (5.8 million, 2.2) perked up with its highest rating in two months, along with a steady “Prison Break” (5.8 million, 2.2).

The CW tried pairing "Gossip Girl" (3.1 million, 1.5) and "Privileged" (2.2 million, 1.0) in originals for the first time. Though not as strong as "One Tree Hill" in the slot, "Privileged" gained some additional sampling from the lead-in, registering its highest rating ever among adults 18-34.
