Is Fox doing 'Who Wants to Marry Octomom'?

Octomom hoax It looks like Fox has purchased a Web site in anticipation of launching a new apocalyptic reality special -- Who Wants to Marry Octomom.

It looks like, but it's not the case.

Somebody has been spreading the link to whowantstomarryoctomom.com to Nadya Suleman fan sites. The page is convincingly filled out to appear as a random part of Fox's online network, complete with Flash ads for Fox programming and inter-site links.

Fox denies purchasing the site, with sources indicating the network is not interested in Suleman. And John Resig, who does the terrific photo blog The Chive and gossip site Derober and has pulled off several high-profile online hoxes of his own, tells us the "totally pro" con job used a couple iframes to simulate Fox ownership. "It's not rocket science, but the effect is nearly seamless."

Who Wants to Marry the Octomom has a certain ring to it. Though the owner should expect a call from Fox business affairs department right ... about ... now.
