CBS update: 'Cold Case,' 'Unit,' 'Trace,' 'Rivers' ...

CBS is leaning toward "Cold Case" vs. "Without a Trace" for a pickup, which isn't too surprising given the show's serious ratings surge for its season finale. Also, "The Unit" not looking too hot. These choices are a reflection of CBS' relative strength right now. Even with the shows being costly, veteran series, it's tough to imagine the other broadcasters turning away series performing in the mid-twos. Also looking near a pickup: "Three Rivers," "The Good Wife," the "NCIS" spinoff, "U.S. Attorney" and "Miami Trauma."

Also, CBS could make a play for NBC's "Medium." Show has been one of the network's few reliable performers, however, and its tough to imagine NBC letting it go.
