VH1 renews 'Tough Love'
VH1 is picking up its Tough Love dating boot camp reality show for a second season.
In the series, matchmaking mook Steven Ward gives eight single women dating lessons.
“Audiences couldn’t get enough of Steven’s brand of tough love and brutal honesty, which is why we wanted to bring the show back for a second season,” said Jeff Olde, executive vp, original programming, VH1. “Our viewers truly connected with the highs and lows of dating experienced by each woman on the show as well as Steven’s distinctive male perspective" etc., etc., etc...
Tough Love averaged 1.9 million viewers throughout its first season, with Ward proving that Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker madam Patti Stanger isn't the only cable reality star who can berate insecure woman into conforming to male fantasy expectations. Ex:
