CBS dominates Tuesday; 'Good Wife' steady
UPDATED: CBS ruled Tuesday night with the second week of its procedural block largely maintaining its premiere week power.
"NCIS" (21.4 million viewers, 4.8 national adults 18-49 rating) matching last week in the adult demo and set another series high in total viewers. "NCIS: Los Angeles" (17.4 million, 4.1) had a 7% drop. Though "The Good Wife" (13.7 million, 3.2) was the lowest rated of CBS' lineup, the freshman drama climbed a tick despite a slightly weaker lead-in -- a promising sign. Each CBS drama won its hour.
NBC was second with a two-hour "Biggest Loser" (9.2 million, 3.7) rebounding 19% after taking an uncharacteristic ratings hit last week. At 10 p.m. "Jay Leno Show" (6.6 million, 2.2) came in second place, beating the second episode of ABC's "The Forgotten" (7.5 million, 2.0) in the demo.
In third, Fox aired "Hells Kitchen" (6.7 million, 3.1), nearly matching last week's two-hour episode. "So You Think You Can Dance" (5.2 million, 2.4) was pushed to 9 p.m. and continued to pester ABC's dance-genre-topping "Dancing With the Stars" (13 million, 3.7). Fox's show dropped 4% from last week; ABC's fell 26%.
ABC placed fourth, starting with "Shark Tank" (4.8 million, 1.5) -- performing better than its Sunday airings despite heavier competition and having to jump start the night -- followed by "Dancing" and "Forgotten."
The CW had an on par "90210" (2.2 million, 1.1) and "Melrose Place" (1.4 million, 0.8).
