First 'Lost' final season teaser (video)*

** Huge-huge caveat: It's only 15 seconds ... and there's no new footage!

ABC kicks off its on-air "Lost" final season campaign tonight during "FlashForward" with this familiar amuse bouche for next year.

What's interesting (arguably more interesting than this promo) is that a scarcity of footage is going to be part of the network's marketing plan moving forward, as not to spoil the big reveal of what happened after Juliet detonated the bomb.

One school of thought at the network is to not show any new footage -- anywhere -- before the premiere. That would be quite something and likely unprecedented. If that happens, well, this is all the "Lost" you're gonna get anytime soon. I suspect the network will figure out a way to show something in future trailers. Glimpses, at least.

A premiere date for "Lost" is still not locked in. I'm now hearing late January is quite possible, especially since ABC has 18 hours this season to play with. 

Again, lower your expectations ... and get used to being teased.
