Daytime Emmys to honor Dick Clark

Awards_175_revisedThe Daytime Emmy Awards will honor "American Bandstand" and Dick Clark as part of its upcoming primetime telecast on CBS.

Cher, Barry Manilow, Garth Brooks, Marie Osmond, Ann-Margret, Frankie Avalon, The Spinners, Jay Leno and Simon Cowell will salute the iconic show and legendary television personality (no Ryan Seacrest?).

"Since this is the first time the Daytime Emmys will be based outside New York or L.A., we’re putting together a special that will tap into the energy and excitement of Las Vegas, " said David McKenzie, executive producer of the telecast. "This will be an entertainment driven awards presentation that viewers will embrace."

Hosted by Regis Philbin, the awards will air Sunday, June 27, live from Las Vegas.
