Colm Feore goes paranormal for 'Listener'

Colm Feore has joined the cast of "The Listener," the upcoming Canadian paranormal series acquired by NBC, Canada's CTV and Fox International. Feore will play an older mentor to a young paramedic (Craig Olejnik) who uses his telepathic powers to heal what's broken in the lives of people he treats. Full story

Reiko Aylesworth is in negotiations for a major recurring role on ABC's "Lost." Meanwhile, Amy Price-Francis has landed a recurring role on Aylesworth's former show, Fox's "24." In at least four episodes of ABC Studios' "Lost," Aylesworth will play Amy, a smart and successful professional woman with a love for the outdoors who is looking for the right man. Full story

First Russian series for Fox Life

“Ginger,” produced by Russian World Studios (RWS), will become the first Russian-produced TV series broadcast on Fox Life, RWS said in a press release on Thursday. “Ginger,” about a red-haired musician who loses her eyesight, will be part of the Fox Life channel’s offering in the Baltic States, Russia and other CIS countries as of January 2009. 'Adams' family grows

James Van Der Beek and David Denman have been tapped to co-star on Fox's pilot "Eva Adams." The hour long project, from writer/executive producer Kevin Falls and Sony TV, is set at a sports agency and centers on Adam, an egotistic sexist agent who, under a witch's spell, turns into a beautiful woman so he can endure the harassment he's been dishing out. Ron Livingston is 'Defying Gravity'

Fox TV Studios has teamed with Canada's CTV, Germany's ProSieben and the BBC for "Defying Gravity," a 13-episode adventure drama series starring Ron Livingston. "Gravity," which hails from creator/exec producer James Parriott ("Grey's Anatomy") and exec producer Michael Edelstein ("Desperate Housewives"), is set in the near future and revolves around eight astronauts from five countries who take on a mysterious six-year mission through the solar system. German actress Florentine Lahme also has been cast in "Gravity," a co-venture between FtvS and Vancouver-based Omni Film Prods. whose Brian Hamilton and Michael Chechik also exec produce. Full story

FX developing 'Staten Island' drama

FX is developing a New York-set police drama with former "West Wing" writer/executive producer Lawrence O'Donnell and Mandalay Television. "Staten Island," a co-production of FX Prods. and Fox 21, centers on a compromised police chief based in the borough. Should the project go forward, it could become a successor to FX's long-running cop drama "The Shield," which bows out Nov. 25. Full story

Two more join Fox's 'Boldly'

Following the casting of Ben Koldyke as the lead in Fox's comedy pilot "Boldly Going Nowhere," another unknown, Lennon Parham, has landed the top female role. Chad L. Coleman also is cast in the 20th TV-produced project. "Nowhere," from the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" trio of Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton, is about what happens day-to-day on an intergalactic spaceship helmed by the rogue Capt. Megan Dodds inks with Fox

Megan Dodds has inked a talent holding deal with Fox and 20th Century Fox TV to star in an hourlong series project. The deal stems from Dodds' performance in the Fox/20th TV dramedy pilot "Courtroom K," which impressed executives at the network and studio. Full story

Salma Hayek develops 'McToms' at Fox

Fox, which has been looking to bring back the family comedy genre with a twist, is developing "The New McToms," a hybrid multi- and single-camera half-hour executive produced by Salma Hayek. Full Story
