Borat Speaks Hebrew

Borat300x200 Borat may be the best film at this festival, the one that truly satisfied the most people. I have yet to meet anyone who didn't adore it, and it has by far the best star ranking on Screen International's critics poll. Last night at a gathering on the rooftop of The Pilot bar, producer Ram Bergman told me that when Borat speaks what we assume is Kazakh, it's actually Hebrew. Throughout the movie—through all the aniti-Semite jokes—he's speaking Hebrew. This movie will be a huge hit.

UPDATE: Time's Richard Corliss agrees.
