Pirate Has a studio lawyer finally figured out a way to tame the piracy beast?

NBC general counsel Rick Cotton tells News.com that the network has finally figured out how to keep its content off unauthorized websites. Cotton cites statistics that show that more than 99 percent of Internet viewers who watched the Olympics online did so at the network's sites. Cotton also says he's encouraged by the network's success in getting videos of recent Saturday Night Live parodies of Sarah Palin off unauthorized channels.

Whether or not NBC's antipiracy efforts are really working, the true headliner seems to be the emerging respect that network executives are giving YouTube for its cooperation.
