Litigation Roundup: Charlize Theron Settles; Keanu Reeves Victorious

Keanu Theroncharlize Charlize Theron has settled a a $20 million suit in which she was accused in Manhattan Federal Court of sporting a Christian Dior watch in breach of a promotional contract with a Swiss watchmaker. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Celebrities have recently faced a rash of lawsuits alleging promotional breach. Kate Hudson and Teri Hatcher were also sued on similar grounds this year.

In other litigation news, a California jury let Keanu Reeves off the hook on a civil complaint alleging he struck a paparazzo with his Porsche. The photographer in question was trying to get video of Britney Spears and sued Reeves for $711,974. In court he claimed that any utterance of the words "paparazzi" and "paparazzo" would unfairly prejudice a jury. The favorable outcome for Reeves came from a jury that included several people who workin the entertainment industry.
