Hollywood Docket: 'Paranormal' is most-pirated movie; 'FlashForward' tops TV list

• Science fiction continues to be very popular in piracy channels. Last week, "Paranormal Activity" was the most downloaded movie on BitTorrent. Meanwhile, most TV shows this season haven't been huge hits on P2P networks, but one exception is "Flash Forward," the only first-season series in the top 50 of pirated television.
• In other piracy news, four new suitors have emerged to purchase Pirate Bay and the Brooklyn Law School has been investigating copyright abuse on the part of its students. If law students can't stay away from illegal copyright file-sharing, is there any hope?
• Screen Actors Guild members have rejected a tentative agreement over a new video games contract, objecting to the number of voices that background actors would be required to perform before making higher pay rates.
• As revelations emerge that a recent message sent by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger contained a hidden profane message to a California assemblyman, a California appeals court ruled that a 16-year-old who used profanity in a cell phone text message didn't violate state obscenity laws. The ruling overturned a conviction. Apparently, California is still prosecuting people for using obscenity, though the good news for the Governor is that the 16-year-old is now off the hook.
