Staffing Roundup: Sony promotes two

Here's a roundup of recent hirings and promotions:

  • Sony Pictures Entertainment has promoted John Fukunaga to executive vp of legal affairs. Fukunaga has been with Sony for 15 years and will be charged with handling mergers and acquisitions, financings, network operations, home entertainment and digital distribution..
  • Suzanne Lopez has been promoted to executive vp business and legal affairs at FremantleMedia North America. Previously she was senior vp, having joined the company in 2004 after working at Artisan Entertainment. 
  • Jerry Longarzo has been named head of business affairs at BermanBraun. Longarzo, who previously spent time at Fox and Disney, will oversee business development and strategic planning.
  • Maggie Heim has been promoted to senior vice president of litigation for Sony Pictures. She's been with the company since 1993, specializing in intellectual property litigation and cases involving technology and content protection. She'll now be responsible for litigation related to all aspects of the studio.
