Staffing: New hires at Harry Fox; Reed Smith; Bingham

A few recent entertainment law hires and promotions:

  • Showbiz finance specialist Michael Sherman has joined Reed Smith's LA office. Sherman was chair of the entertainment industry group at LA's Jeffer Mangels Butler & Marmaro, where he had practiced since 1987.
  • Maurice Russell has been promoted to svp of licensing, collections and business affairs for the Harry Fox Agency. He was vp and has been with the music rights licensing org since 2002.
  • Former eBay deputy general counsel Mary Huser has joined Bingham McCutchen as a partner in the firm's IP group. This is her second tour with the firm, having left in 2008 to join eBay. She's based in the Silicon Valley office.
  • Litigator Caroline Mankey has joined the LA firm Cypress. She was with Glaser Weil Fink Jacobs Howard & Shapiro, where a number of Cypress partners started.
