Sony's Michael Lynton to keynote USC symposium

Mon Sep 20, 2010 @ 04:09PM PST

Lynton, michael USC has set Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman and CEO Michael Lynton as the keynote speaker for its annual Institute on Entertainment Law and Business on Oct. 23. This is one of our favorite events on the Hollywood Law calendar, a great chance to bone up on the latest trends and collect some insight from top legal minds in the entertainment business. Lynton's lunchtime conversation with Institute chairman (and Gang Tyre senior partner) Bruce Ramer should be a highlight on par with Bob Iger's talk last year.

Ramer and crew have put together an interesting cross-section of panels this year, from marketing to the Asian film industry to negotiating TV deals. David Carson, general counsel of the US Copyright Office, will give a special guest talk. And we're moderating a panel, "Understanding Social Media: We've Got an App for That," with Lin Cherry, general counsel and executive vp at MySpace, Jordan McCollum, vp and counsel at Disney Interactive Media Group, and Tony Wang, legal counsel at Twitter. So stop by and say hello.
